I just bought my second Road Holland jersey. ATMO they are the best on the market. The styling is understated but impressive. But where they really shine is the fabric -- a wool/poly blend - that has the perfect combination of wicking, softness and breathability. Highly, highly recommended.

Ordered a matching pair for my parents, for their 60th b-days. The jerseys looked really nice, and seemed well made. Sizing wasn't race cut, but seemed on par with other manufacturers.

so does that mean "club cut" or normal American then?

Hubby recently bought several of these jerseys and they are BEAUTIFUL. As the one in charge of the laundry and having to deal with the hand washing/line drying of his 10000000 Rapha jerseys, I can tell you that these come out of the washer looking perfect and I have dried them in the dryer with no ill effect. No shrinking or fading. They got the fabric combo right.

Re sizing, I would say pretty consistent with American "club" sizing. Earlier iterations ran a bit large, but not now.

Why do you hand wash and line dry Rapha jerseys? Does he only have the 100% merino ones?

If he has the most popular Rapha jerseys (Classic, Country, Club), the instructions say you can machine wash and dry them, and I have been doing so for mine with no ill effects. In fact, both the care instructions and fabric combo are virtually identical to those for Road Holland.

Maybe you were just trying too hard with the Rapha....

Rapha jerseys seem to hold up better when they're machine washed. Maybe it's the nature of the wool/poly blend. They never looked crisp when hand washed.

And here I thought Rapha jerseys were to be washed on rocks on the bank of the River Epicness and rinsed with the tears of your vanquished foes.
Clearly, I did not read the care instructions correctly.

Just kidding.
BTW: for those who haven't seen it, here is my compro of RH v Rapha v Torm jerseys:

Looks good, sounds good.

I have a Holland road jersey. Quality not nearly as good as Road Holland, but it almost 40yrs old.

nice pic! my first thought was hey those guys look related. my second thought was I'm still not liking the RH collars. Colourway looks great though.

I look forward to being able to do major rides like that with my daughter.

Soft, 100% merino wool -- such as some of my Woolistic manufactured jerseys, some not all -- is delightful on my skin.

"Breathes" delightfully, too. (Not fond of that term, but wicking away sweat is another way to put it.)

Polyester jerseys, not so delightful.

So, how does this 61% wool/39% poly fabric compare?

Dave, who has been very happy with how soft 100% wool can be so he's wary of a combo like this

Those are very nice. I don't think I can roll with the collars and buttons, but a full zip jersey or two would work.

How do wool/poly blends compare to 100% merino wool in terms of odor control?

I can wear my 100% merino wool Smartwool jersey for about 5 days straight before I start smelling some funk.

I just wore my wool/poly blend Rapha country jersey 3 times (23, 81 and 55 miles) on some pretty warm, muggy days, and it didn't smell. I washed it because of the salt stains....

hey, how do these hold up in the hot/humid?

They're great in the hot/humid! Just bought two used ones from "tele" in the classifieds and took one out in the 90+ hot/humid Chicago weather for a little jaunt up to work.

I really liked it because it worked well with just regular shorts, which is how I commute.

Sure it wasn't Rapha-esq "epic" but it worked well. I wish it fit just a tad smaller (and I have a small) but for commuting it gets two thumbs up!

Those jerseys look really nice, perfect for a birthday present for my wife. As the weather is typically cool around here, we wear layers either under and/or over.

How well do these jerseys layer?
