So I got bike #1 packed up for moving day... I'm leaving the top of the boxes open so the packers can "approve" it and it will be covered by the insurance... I've got the Ritchey Breakaway to pack (easy since there is a bag for it...) and the Santa Cruz Superlight that I have a big box for... I'm taking the Hakkalugi with me on the drive...

Here is the Casseroll packed better than I treat my kids I think... :D

Be sure you have something underneath the big chainring, or somewhere under there (I guess that holds for all edges) so if they drop the box on end the frame doesn't just slide down and dump all the load on the big ring. That happened to me a few years ago for a bike in a Trico IronCase and I got a bent ring courtesy of FedEx (or maybe it was UPS, can't remember).

Edit, although it looks like maybe the rear wheel is still installed, so that should help.

I left the rear wheel on, figured the tire would provide a bit of cushion... I did add some extra padding on the sides... the good thing is FedEx or UPS won't be touching this... the boxes will go into a huge crate with all my other crap and and put on a big boat to Alaska... :D

Too bad I didn't get a chance to ride with you, since you're only a few minutes away. Best of luck on your move and be safe.
