Building up my new Paul Taylor pista made for road riding, brakes, longer wheel base, etc. I seem to have sold my 165mm dura ace 70's pista crankset. So does using a road crankset 170mm work. I can file off inner shoulders so only one chainring can mount. Use single rings cranset bolts. ?'s are chain alingement using a single cog freewheel in back. and if 170mm cranks will work if BB is lower.I need to measure it. Has any one run say 50T/ 48 T crankset with ENO double 17T /19T freewhel in back and rode either 48T / 19T or 50T/ 17T ?
Which should result in rear wheel staying in same location and brake pads still touching rim in the same place

I've done this on my SS MTB, there is a post of my pink IF if you go back through posts I've started or I think you can search for "dingle speed"...wait, here it is. (http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=45902) I use a Phil BB because you can adjust chain line (within reason). I still have a White Industries dos freewheel for sale in this (http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=100750) thread. PM me if you need parts. I think I also have a Chorus alloy crank in 172.5 that would work for this.
