It tough these days. I am doing the same search right now, and the pickings are pretty slim.

Seatpost - this one is easy. Thomson Elite or Masterpiece if you do not need a set back post. There may be others but I have been so happy with Thomsons that I haven't looked.

Stem - Real tough if you're talking threadless. Thomson again, except that their stems are pretty massive and not that atractive to my eyes. (In fact, I used to like the Thomson stem and even ordered one on a new bike. When the bike came in it sure didn't look as good as it did on other bikes.) The only other one I know of is Oval Concepts, which I have on one bike and will probably be ordering for my new bike.

Bars - a little more selection than stems. Deda 215 comes in silver, some Ritchey (although I don't think any current models do - I found a NOS on EBay last year), and then there is Nitto. What I am having trouble finding is a short reach, round bend, silver bar. Anyone?

For 26.0 bars check out the Oval Concepts stem.

They make a fine looking silver post as well. Looks like a Ritchey WCS but in satin silver. Nice.

I stumbled onto some silver Nitto bars I had never seen at the usual Nitto sellers. These were being sold on the Soma Fabrications website. Silver, ergo, with grooves.

Try that silver Campy compact crank and give us a report.

Good luck.

what's the setback on an Oval post vs. a Ritchey WCS?

Oval = 28
Ritchey = 20

I hate black and would love to get every bit of it off my bike.

I say go for the Moots seatpost. It comes in both straight and offset, plenty of different lengths, and looks great. On top of that, it would be nice to have a little Yampa Valley Mojo on your ride. :banana:

Nice more silver lovers. I'm like matching the post with stem and I don't think you can get a better looking silver than thomson. So it'll be the x2 up front and the elite post. Also for a ti frame silver wheels look great too IMO. So it'll be either the silver ksyriums, silver fulcrums, or the new silver eurus wheels. We'll see pending some tests or some actual reviews on the fulcrum R1's and 06 eurus.

What brand is best for bar tape in silver? Fizik bar tape any good?

Ziggurat,

Check out this thread.....shows nice silver oval stem and post with silver saddle and tape via photoshop. I think this will really help you visualize it.

I picked up some silver carbon Deda tape from Competitive Cyclist that looks pretty good. It's not as padded as the foam tape, but not bad.

For a trick silver stem, check out Tune:

Also, the new Conti GP4000 tires come in a silver metalic...too cool for me.

Speaking of silver stems Reynolds forks and I'm assuming Serotta's forks also require a special reynolds top cap to go along with their compression plug since a majority of it actually slides into the steerer for added strength. I know my cannondale top cap is the same way. However I have only found black ones. Does reynolds sell a silver top cap? If they don't I'm sure there must be some after market stuff. I think a Silver stem with a black top cap ruins the whole aesthetics although mismatched silver could also be a problem. What have you guys done with your setup?

T Mougal,
Here is a link to a company that produces nice spacers and caps in many colors including silver. You can also have them engraved. I bought spacers a while ago and the company was pleasant to deal with.

I've searched high and low for silver short-reach bars, with no luck so far. Nittos are nice, but they all seem to have a long reach. Thesearch continues...

Have you checked out the Nitto Neat 153? 131 mm reach/81 mm drop, 26.0 center section. That is a shorter reach than any others I know of.
