Anyone have any experience with 2007 HED Ardennes SL Clincher wheels? How's the ride? Tires, air pressure, etc. Cost?

I have a set of custom clincher Belgium C2s with CK R45 hubs. This should be the same rim, unless the SL uses scandium instead of alloy. FWIW, I've heard from several sources that alloy is recommended b/c the scandium tends to be more brittle.

Anyway, I really like my Belgiums. I train and race on them with 90psi. They are comfortable, much stiffer than my previous Easton EA90SLX rims, and they built up quite light. I have used them in crits and road races, and they perform great in both.

I've got a set that runs great (mine might be the 2008/09 version). I think the hubs are different. If your rim is the scandium version like mine the only thing I needed to do was to swap out my DA brake pads for some kool stop ones. The DA pads tended to hold on to little particles of the rim which would build up over time and scratch the rim braking surface. If you do a search here on those wheels you'll find tons of info. I run MP2s 25c on them. I keep the pressure around 95psi. I paid 700 for my set used. Very fast wheelset. You won't be disappointed.

All my bikes are on HED wheels with C2 rims with the exception of my Bedford

I live the ride, handling, and added tire wear

+1.
I'm using Stan's tubeless, ride these wheels daily for several years on rough roads. they ride great and they are durable.

Just for info, the 'scandium' rims aren't 'scandium', but aluminum with some scandium 'dirt' mixed in, and quite a small amount, like .5 of 1%.

Are they C2s? The wider rims came out in late 2007. The comments are about the wider rims.

Yes, C2's.

Good, I still see places selling NOS standard width Ardennes.
