. . . for me? That would still leave 199,999 fully equipped Ottrott's for use in New Orleans.

In whatever terms you care to express it, though, it's an absolutely staggering cost. New Oreleans is changed forever, just like NYC after 9/11.

Finally the enormity of the disaster has been placed in terms which I can understand.....

NO has changed, but much worse than NYC, IMO....

doof hopes this isn't crossing the politics line, but oofd doesn't think public money should go towards rebuilding...30% of the city was below the poverty level -- the city couldn't support its residents in a decent manner, so why rebuild an economically dying city? cut those folks a gov. check to relocate in an economically viable area...maybe that's cold hearted...but here in doof's town about 30% of the population is at or below the poverty level...and if the Rock got smashed, why should public money go towards rebuilding a failed mill town that can't attract new industry?

Bro - Democracy Now was about that very fact - moving the poor blacks out of New Orleans for relocation so new apartments could be built for upper income people.
Cheers.
