At least for me, going from Shimano 9-speed, is the weird feeling of not having cables out in front of you. Campy guys would be used to it, but I find it a little disconcerting. Not sure why.

It used to be such a great place to lay my helmet... but if you get the first generation 10 speed you can still have the cables out in front.

I don't miss the cables. Much cleaner without - in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong - I like the look. Just feels like I'm going to go over the bars.

The cables under the bar tape increases lateral stiffness by 14.72% and also increases vertical compliance by 24.67%. You can expect to save 30 minutes on a 2% 0.3 km climb.
