I have the Assos Blitzfeder jacket. It packs away very small (like a largish avocado).

How small does the Climaschutz jacket pack down to in comparison, and does it also come with its own built-in stuff sack?

You have to fold it just right and then it goes very small. About the same size. If you don't fold it right, it tends to be bulky so you need to take the time to do it right. Stuffed crudely, it fills a winter jersey back pocket completely.

Note that it fits a bit tighter than the other jackets from Assos -- almost a full size.

Thanks for the insight. Origami classes then:)

When you say it fits a bit tighter than the other "jackets" from Assos, do you mean the other 'jackets' or the other 'shells'?

Many thanks.

That's a good distinction to make. In my experience, the shells (both with
and without sleeves) are quite a bit looser cut than the Assos jackets with
insulation. i'm going to have to make sure to try on a Blitzfeder vest before
purchasing one.

I'm thinking about the Climaschutz (a 4 season shell) and I assume it is cut to accommodate an Assos winter jacket underneath. I tried the Assos Tiburu jacket and the large was my size (the medium was restrictive). I have just tried on the Blitzfeder jacket in a medium and it fits, snug but fits. I'm wondering if the Climaschutz is a little more relaxed to go over a winter jacket, more relaxed than the Blitz? 11.4 thinks it's more fitted than the Blitz. I'm confused:confused:

I'll ask Assos directly for an answer.

I can't confirm that, I've got basically everything BUT climaSchutz !

But I'm thinking that basically anything 'new' in the last season is more fitted.
I bought most of the new pieces, and was given some at Christmas,
I'm a medium in jerseys and all the winter type jackets, Habu, bonKa.6 Cento,
851, and in base layers. The tiBuru.4 is very slim. The new summer
SS.1 Short Sleeve jersey is slimmer and shorter in the front than the
old uno jersey.

I downsized these pieces I found to be excessively loose in a medium:
and bought the Blitzfeder jacket and vest, and the Element Zero vest
in a small. I've tried on the sturmPrinz rain jacket, and that too I would
need to downsize one size to a small. So the only thing i've found to be
loose are shells. I plan to try a climaSchutz vest, if i can find one in the
next few days, i'll post if it was like the Blitzfeder or not.

I guess I need to confirm that I don't buy the shells to wear much underneath,
my preference is to fit them pretty trim.

Why does this sound like a product from a Seinfeld episode?

"Kramer, what are you doing with that Climaschutz?"

I stopped by my local assos dealer (LaBicicletta in Toronto)
and they had the climaSchutz vest, but not the jacket to try on.

It fit the same as my Blitzfeder that i was wearing at the time,
so it's still one i'd downsize just like the other shells, at least
for me.

Fwiw, until the revamp of the lineup, I previously wore a size L across the board (jerseys, jackets, bibs, tights, etc.) in Assos, but have had to size up to an XL in the Habu and Tiburu jackets. The Bonka in the "Mille" version fits me in size L. The climaShutz seems to fit me the same as previous shells (size L), and I can wear it over the Bonka jacket, if that helps. No anti-Dentite here.

Thank you Grant. I appreciate your help.

Jason.

Time to think it over:)

The Tiburu was like a corset! I'm normally a medium and that was difficult to breathe in.

I can get a Blitzfeder medium on (I have one), but my online retailer is pushing me toward a Climaschutz in a large. He's saying the body is a little narrower than the Blitz.

Need to think it over.

Many thanks for your input.

Jason.

Jason.

Yup! I'm only 5'7" and about 140lbs and the medium is snug on me!

I just got in from a ride in mine, and I LOVE this jeresy. It's really
the first non-shell jersey/jacket thingy that i'm comfortable in cooler
temps, with some wind getting though, but it's still warm.
Basically it replaces my Habu, which i never really liked, too thin on the
backs of the arms.

The new SS.1 short sleeve jersey is also pretty trim too, although
it seems the Tiburu fabric is designed to be stretchy, but a lot of folks
than have been borderline between a medium and large Assos top
aren't going to fit into a medium Tiburu!

I found this on YT. At 3:00 is the Climaschutz. He says the vest version is more tapered than the shell on show. I might try for a medium (jacket).
