View Full Version : What's a nice 36h rim these days?

I'm looking for a pair of 36h rims for a classic build so not too aero - box or so prefered in fact - and it must be black too. I already have a pair of Open Pro's on another bike so I'd like to find something else but it looks like this drilling is quite hard to find these days. Any ideas?

Ambrosio Excellence comes in 36. Might be a little heavy for your tastes, but it sure looks nice, with the shiny black finish and the gold weight at the valve hole.

Clinchers! I have a pair of tubies as well :)

Velocity Aerohead or A23 could be nice? Ambrosio too...

Looks like an expensive rim though. How much for a pair shipped to Canada Peter? :)

H+son TB14 is another choice. Don't think they are any cheaper than Razors though. Black, hard anodized grey, or polished silver, in the trendy 23mm width. No tacky labels either.

I have a set in polished silver, and they are quite nicely made.

I'll have to check(I'm at home) but I seem to think they retail for about $65 per...shipping up north is about $30 methinks but I can get more specific if you wish. I put Razors on the Waterford with ALU Athena, went together(the group AND wheels) very nicely. Altho like all single eyelet, ya gotta be conscious of the spoke tension, I like them a lot.
