Thanks for the warm wishes. I love being married and love being a dad. But I do long for the simplicity of the single life certain days. 4 days from now I'll be missing everyone and ready for them to come home. I'll have to drown my sorrows with the water bottle on some long rides;)

I get 4-6 weeks alone each summer. With 3 children, I relish it. Mainly, because I can ride whenever I want for as long as I want without guilt. Unfortunately, it's in July and August, and the temperature is always above 90 and the humidity varies with the mercury, decreasing as it gets hotter. In any event, I am usually home by 10 a.m.

Make the best of it, Geoff. Those short periods of solitude are few and far between. I love my wife and kids immensely and enjoy my time with them, but I also enjoy those occasional weekend trips they take without me.
