Has anyone tried cyclocross with a straight bar? I was just thinking that Campy has veloce in a straight bar configuration - wouldn't it be kinda different to build a cyclocross frame with a mountain bar - perhaps with grips on the end?

I think this could make a nice 'all arounder' setup. Something to go to the trails with, then to the store.

also wondering if anyone has actually seen or used campy's veloce flat bar setup.

off to go ride - it is a beautiful day in Maryland today. Absolutely georgeous! If I didn't know better I would say I was in Colorado right now. :D

with that setup. Here's a pic of Thomas Frischknecht with a straight bar. I think he was using Grip Shift at the time.

Didn't Frischknecht win a silver at the '97 cross worlds on a flat bar...

...on my single speed. It works great. Especially on very technical courses.

you can find it here http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=5262

Cool! I know little about cross - it looks like fun!

I live next to paptasco calley state park avalon area - I think some of the trails are a bit technical for a cross rig but it would be a blast! :bike:
