SOLD -- Because it's not being ridden, and because its front end is just a bit too tall for me, I'm putting my DeSalvo 10th Anniversary frame with painted-to-match Edge 2.0 fork up for sale. This is a truly wonderful bike: light, quick, stable, beautiful. Moreover, its builder, Mike DeSalvo, is hugely talented and a great person.

I bought this bike from a forumite about a year ago (original ad here (http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=87210&highlight=DeSalvo)). It's my understanding that the original owner is a bit taller and a bit heavier than me. Still, the bike has worked very well for me, and I'm right around 6' and weigh approximately 175. The bike is stiff, to be sure, but it doesn't ever beat me up.

Details:

effective top tube = 56.5 cm c-c
seat tube = 54.5 cm c-c
slope = 5 degrees
head tube = 17.7 cm
head and seat angles = 73.5 degrees
chainstays = 41 cm
bottom bracket drop = 8 cm
setback = 21 cm
wheelbase = 99 cm
saddle height pictured = 76.1 cm from the center of the bb to the saddle's top
drop pictured = about 3.5 cm

Condition = outstanding. I don't believe there are any paint chips in the frame; there are certainly no dings or dents that I've found. There is some minor rub under the fork crown, but it's entirely out of sight. The original owner put a bit more than 2,000 miles on the bike. I've put another 2,500ish on top of that. I have a bunch of bikes, as people know, and while this one was for a time my daily rider, it didn't ever travel with me or go out in inclement weather.

Price: I'd like $1,050/obo shipped for the f/f/hs. If you want to talk about the complete bike, we can do that. We can also talk about bits and pieces. Regardless, please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for looking. -- SOLD

I donít have a garage, Iím afraid, so I used a fence. Saddle height, as shown, is 76 cm from the center of the bottom bracket to the to of the saddle.

Itís a DeSalvo. In case you missed it.

Lots of room for 25s (Michelin PR3s, which are balloons). 28s? I donít know.

Again, thereís more than enough room for a 25 (Michelin PR3) up front.

I should have gone for one of these when Mike first offered them. Too bad this one is too small.

Ari, if you're parting out, I'd be willing to take those shifters off your hands.

Unless you've already got those bits in line for another project...

I know someone that fits very well......need a Cannondale frame by chance? ;)

Unless I sell the bike complete, I'll almost certainly hold onto the shifters. The wheels, though, are probably going no matter what, along with some other bits and pieces.

I totally agree. Alas, it doesn't fit me perfectly, so it's not getting ridden. And bikes that don't get ridden have to go!

Trying to talk my son into it. His wife bought Speedy Chix 10th Anniv last Fall, this would be sweet for him.

Ari, what an amazing frame!

Looks like comfortable geometry. If it were 6-7cm bigger and had fender/rack mounts I'd be all in.

It's a shame that doesn't fit Ari. That may be my favorite of the bikes you have.

It's a super classy bike, for sure. And now you're gonna make me cry.

Did it fit Mojo and were you two able to strike a deal?

It fit him really well, actually, but I think he wants to think about it. And in the meantime, I want to make sure that the original owner doesn't want it back. Assuming that gearguywb doesn't want it, I hope zmud's son or Mojo will jump on it. Regardless, thanks for the hook-up, Peter. By the way, the fixed rides that you guys do sound insane

Still nudging Mojo to commit but his SO is apparently calling a moratorium. Suggested he buy her a nice ring to soften the blow.:)

Thanks, Peter. It sounded like they were about to plunk down some serious cash on a tandem, which is more fun than a ring.

wow, that is such an awesome price! I saw these bikes when I was at the Indy NAHBS, Mike had one there and it was fantastic... this is a steal at this price...

I really think it is, thanks. But I thought it was a very good deal at the higher price, too. The thing is, the used bike market, save for a few items (and I'm not even sure about those, to be honest), is just brutal. I've benefited a lot from this state of affairs as a buyer, so it's only right that I should suffer a bit as a seller. Anyway, whoever gets this is going to have an awesome bike.

A pal of mine visited Ari to check out this bike last night and reports it as being showroom clean. I have a 10AE myself and can attest to the quality of the Mike's frames. And you won't find a better seller than Ari.

Thanks, Peter. The bike is not quite showroom clean, but it could easily be mistaken for new. That's true cosmetically, but more importantly, it's true mechanically. And as you say, Mike D is as good as it gets.
