And for my 1000th post, I present what we've affectionately nicknamed "The Peanut Project."

http://thepeanutproject.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/peanut12_4.jpg?w=300&h=300

It was just a year ago this week that I was asking the fine gentlemen on this site what it takes to make a marriage work as I was headed off to marry my wife... And I know there are already plenty of fatherhood threads, so I'll just go and search them out for those answers, but I wanted to share this

October will be a fun month -- probably won't be racing too much CX this year..

And if you happen to think back about my 'downstairs neighbor smoking weed and filling our apartment with it' thread, yeah, this is why I got so bent out of shape then - don't mess with my Peanut! (thankfully he's long been evicted and the other tenant's new roomate is much nicer!)

Thanks for letting me hang around these parts!

Many congratulations!!!

When your child arrives, you will have to rethink many things regarding your life and how it's conducted, children change everything. You do nothing without taking that small person into consideration.

That said, enjoy your kid while you can. Time flies. When the child is young, you look ahead counting the months/years until events/graduations/etc., wondering why it's taking so long to come. Then the kids leave starting their own lives, you look back wondering where the hell the time went!

We had a good friend tell us to avoid rushing any phase as none of them last long. The image of taking him home to sitting with him at a Yankee game Tuesday night seem way too close together (though the comparative photographs would reveal a hairline that suggests more time has passed than my mind might recall)...
At about-to-be-14, he'll eclipse me in size some time this year.
Enjoy every second!

Thanks everyone -- we're super excited..

A couple guys on a couple teams who I ride with tell me they've brought their kids (in a trailer) along on training rides up 9w... i take it that's probably ill-advised, right?

Congrats, it is a great time. You might ride less but likely care very little about it.

Enjoy! :hello:

Congratulations! We were in the same boat about 9 months ago and expect our Mexican Jumping Bean project to come to fruition in about 7 days.

Our Mexican Jumping Bean is 5 months old and my hobbies and wants have all but disappeared. My wife asked me how I liked my Serotta Club Special I found and I only said it was nice because "nothing else matters" with Baby Sofia in my life.

Congratulations,
Andy
