Okay, I've been riding long enough to be ashamed of the fact I've never ridden a good set of tubulars. To rectify this, I took the plunge and acquired a good used set of Mavic SSCs laced to DA hubs, so finally, I'll be able to make the comparison for myself.
My question to the group is the wheels have had tires mounted in the past, do I need to remove the old glue residue prior to glueing the new ones on? If not, does that answer change if I were to use TUFO tubular tape? Thanks in advance. Advice on tires is always welcome (think 220 pound century rider on a Caloi/Litespeed).
