Kontact saddle pass around !!!

Hope the OPs are ok with this because i have not asked them yet.

Many of you guys after a couple of hours of riding know if the saddle will work or not, and if it doesn't work you get stuck with the saddle trying to sell it or trade it for something else that usually is not in the same condition...

Talking with Kontact, the idea of a pass around saddle came up and he kind'a agreed to it. New saddles are out in his website until some point in may, but he is able to send one out for testing to pass along between the forum members. The saddle won't be new obviously and will have some blemishes that pretty much serve the purpose because is for testing and if somebody like the saddle sure will buy a spanking new one.

Since doubt a test will take a whole month, the idea is to use it for a few days (read 1st paragraph again), and then send it to the next guy in line and so on. Obviously the idea is to return the saddle to kontact too, after all he has been nice enough to agreed to the idea... just a note in bold for the ones that have problems remembering or having problems taking care of stuff that is not theirs ok?? Please don't take this personally but pretty much many of us dont know to each other and this is just a good opportunity to test a new product, so please remember it ok? Kontact is being super nice to just give us the chance this way.

Hope the Operators are ok with the idea aswell...

Okay, chaps (and any ladies), I sent Ultraman6970 a saddle with blemished graphics in a Priority Mail envelope with no box. That kind of light packaging will keep shipping reasonable for everyone. I'd suggest people use this thread to check in so everyone can see where the saddle is. Please PM your address to the person above you one the list so they know where to send it when they're done - which means some of you may need to make some inbox room.

And everyone should feel free to post their comments on the thread. This is a mature product that has been on the market for several years under Kontact and a previous name with many happy riders, but it still isn't perfect for every cyclist. A good way to add a second demo saddle is to either a.) split the list as it is in half and make a new pass-around list or b.) I'll volunteer myself to start the second list and commence a pass-around. :banana:

All kool kontact, thanks to you for taking me seriously... well is a good idea because will help us and help you too.

Even thought you did your research in the design, as many people use it and comments about the saddle, this might will help you to develop new stuff IMO.

The other thing is that as it happens with shoes, you have to spend $ to find out if it works or not, and IMO many times is not an option, being the best option in the forums to start trading or waiting for somebody willing to sale a saddle for the right price that has 50% of chances to go to the parts bin or to your friends friends bike. Next option wait for a swap meet, but even in those events now a days some stuff is just nuts when we talk about monetary value. In the last swap meet i went did not get anything for example.

Ok 1st impressions, went out for like 2 hours or so. The saddle is good (to me), at some point noticed i was kicking the bike faster than ever. It could be the saddle or because there was not a lot of wind today, cant tell for sure.

Went out with the bib that always give me issues with ass pain after 1 hour just to figure it out and this saddle performed better than the spech I use in the bike using this bib in specific, felt discomfort due to the bib but at some point was gone after I draft behind a guy that was going pretty fast. My best guess is that I was seated just in the right place (see saddle web page)

Good support in the back, the padding is firm and gives you a lot of support. Way better than other stuff.

Still need to ride over 2 hours and move the saddle a tiny bit more to figure it out better. One thing tho, the titanium bars have limits, have to ask kontact about this because im in the limit back and I dont know If I can go further back because i ride seated in the back of the saddle (generally).

Just in case I use a spech wiith cut in the middle, set kontact the saddle maybe 1 degree down and in two hours no numbness at all. :banana:

Have some questions for kontact about the design and adjustments. lets see how it goes after 3 to 4 hours and using the bib which gives me no pain at all.

As a closing review the saddle does everything what they say id does, but my butt bones had a tiny issue after 2 hours. Dont get surprised if you guys feel the saddle low, thats because it allows you more room for pedaling. The 15% extra power they claim i felt is true too, never got problems with lack of oxygen or legs pain. Only if my butt liked it better... maybe considering to have one of this ones just for climbing...
