Building up a city trekker/hybrid for a local. Basically, I'm retrofitting a 1975 Bob Jackson frameset to make it a comfortable hybrid/commuter/urban bike.

Looking for a 6/7/8 speed indexed drivetrain with matching shifters, freewheel/cassette, and derailleurs. No funky cable routings or anything. Everything has to be classic and pretty standard.

I'm thinking of opting for either brake lever/shifters or for whatever indexed shifter and Paul Thumbies mounts. So if you have Thumbies mounts, I'm interested.

Not looking for anything fancy. Just in good condition and durable.

I have a NIB set of SRAM 7 Speed gripshifters and a matching rear derailleur. I also have a set of brake levers that should work with the gripshifts and a new, never mounted set of Kalloy handlebars. Pictures of these items are provided. I was going to do a build a couple years ago similar to what you described but I never got around to doing it. Also, not pictured, I have a set of Suntour cantilever brakes and a fairly new set of Tektro linear pull brakes if you're interested in those.

So the frame requires side-pull brakes and the buyer wants thumb shifters not grip-shift.

I need matching shifters, cassette/freewheel and rear derailleur most of all.

Thanks though!

I have some of the parts you're looking for, especially if you're okay with 10s.

- Paul Thumbie mounts
- Dura Ace 10s indexed downtube shifters
- Ultegra 6700 12-27 cassette
- 105 front derailleur

I may have some basic brake levers laying around, will have to check.

PM if you're interested.

Thanks,
Jim
