Hi,
I have a 10 speed Record group and I would like to add a 180mm D/A 9750 Compact crankset 50/36 to the mix. ...Besides it not being Campy, Can this be accomplished without any issues? ...
Here's what I'd like to use:
Record 10 Chain
Record 10 Cassette
Record 10 (carbon BB) Shifters
Record 10 Derailleur
Record front Derailleur
And a Shimano D/A 9750 Crankset
I would use Campys Compact but they only make them up to 175MM.
Thanks!

I'm using a 7800 crank with R10 everything else, works fine.

I appreciate the info Kram, I see that this is possible than. I guess as long as both Shimano & Campy cranks have the same Chainline dimensions, 43.5
No one else is doing this for the longer compact crank options that Shimano offers?

I've run both 9s and 10s Dura Ace cranks on my 10s Campy group. it works. it looks a bit off but I was going through a weight weenie phase. anyway, the length of the crank is immaterial.

Sure, it will be fine. First 10s Campagnolo group I built used a DA 7400 8s crank and gee, it worked just fine.

I appreciate your input and it in fact may truly be immaterial but I've been riding 180's for as long as I can remember and I don't want to move back to 175's now. But I really want to go with a Compact Crankset.
So, this is really my only option for both cost and availability.
...I think I'll give it a try, thanks everyone. Seem like nobody says that this wont work.

I misunderstood you - I thought you were implying that the crank length might mess up the shifting somehow.

I run a Sram Rival crankset on a Campy 10s group and it is flawless.
