Someone posted this on the randon list:

Has anyone here tried one?

It's challenging trying to find out anything about the two models on their web site. Read about the Pearl and it tells you "If the Pearl sounds like it may be too narrow for you, check out the Diablo" -- and when you look at the Diablo it tells you "If the Diablo sounds like it may be too narrow for you, check out the Pearl."

It looks like they don't have pricing yet, so I'm guessing there isn't much opinion on them yet. I'm curious to see what the price-point will be. The cut-out is pretty similar to the selle-anatomica.

They list the widths (155 and 170).
They look pretty nice, though they seem boat anchor heavy. Wonder what they will cost.
Not sure how the weights compare to the Anatomica Titanico X, which is what I have. Wouldn't be surprised if they are close.

Rivet is the venture of Deb Banks who was Tom Milton's significant other. Tom was the man behind Selle Anatomica. Deb's a very capable randonneuse and a great person. This effort is just getting off the ground. I saw the saddles and spoke with her just briefly at NAHBS. It looked to me like she'd put good thought into resolving some of the niggling issues that had folks complaining about the Anatomicas.

You can find a bit more info on her blog (http://web.me.com/dbanks1935/Site/Blog/Entries/2011/10/31_IntroRivet.html) and watch for a forthcoming review over at CampyOnly (http://campyonlyguy.blogspot.com/2012/03/we-riding-rivet.html).

Looks like nice thick leather .... like a Brooks.

Based on the given dimensions the Pearl is a Brooks B-17 equivalent, and the Diablo Swallow. 450gr is the wt of a B-17 w/ ti rails, 350gr- Swallow Ti. Using tubular rails would significantly reduce the weight, while at it they could also replace the 'heavy' cantle plate with the same tubular rail loop but would probably need to license Fizik for the Kurve design.
250-300gr saddle is conceivable, and that's plastic saddles territory.

By the way, there are brown Anatomica Titanico's for $99 on their site right now. Good deal?

How are these an improvement on the Titanicos?
