I really really like my Craft Active bib shorts, great for all my riding... thinking of bumping up to the Craft Performance/performance tour bibs...

I also like my Voler Elite FS bibs, but i do have some issues with the pad thickness (too thick) and rubbing in the inside of my leg, so probably going to avoid these for now...

any thoughts? I can grab the performance tour bibs for about $100 shipped, the actives are $60 shipped...

I know this is a question that really can only be answered for each individual person, but wondering if anyone has any other thoughts?

I've got about $200 to spend and I'd like to get 2 pairs...

Castelli has some great bibs with the new Kiss3 chamois around $130/pair. Maybe find them on sale? I've owned most and like the Castelli fit and performance pretty well.

Castelli and Capo higher end stuff comes around pretty regularly on Bonktown. I seem to remember seeing bibs for under a hundo there. Also Competitive Cyclist had several bibs in their clearance section recently.

I've been extremely happy with Sugoi Evolution bibs I picked up from Nashbar recently, $69.00 each, and with a coupon I got two pairs for just over $100.00.

These are my now 5th pair of Sugoi bibs, three of which are 2-3 years old and still going strong.

you can often find them on sale if you look -

an accidental purchase turned into some of my favorite bibs - Santini, with the non-gel chammys. i believe most of their stuff is still made in Italy, and excellent quality from my experience. take a look for some of their stuff on sale if you can.

Pearl Izumi Attack's are great, and can get them under $100 regularly on discount/sale.

my suggestion would be save a few more dollars and get two pairs of Assos Fi.UNO bibs.

i got mine on sale for $130/ea about 3 years ago but I don't think the price has changed much. they are difficult to find on sale though.

I've tried most every brand out there, generally their higher end models, and I think the assos are incomparable.

I agree totally. I've tried lots of brands, and I always regret not wearing my Assos.

Anyone know where these go for $130? if i can grab em for that, I'll do it, but I see them for about $190 each... which is a little out of my budget...

Just get one pair and wash more often! they hang dry overnight by the morning even when washed late the night before.

they really are a lot better than anything out there and they'll last quite a long time. my 3 pairs are going strong after nearly daily use in a rotation for 3 years.

Louis Garneau Neo Power bib.

Best I've worn, period. Great fit, durable material, supportive design, excellent pad, choice of colors and priced right.

I'd rate Capo next then the Sugoi RS.

I'm a large... which makes it tougher... lots of good deals for small or big people... i'm 6-foot, 173... so typically american large (xl in santini)...

Thanks for all the leads so far folks...

Splurge a little and buy these crazy expensive shorts from Craft (http://shop.craftsports.us/New-Elite-Body-Control-Cycling-Bib) and tell us if they're worth it.

What type of riding are you doing? If you're doing mostly short (<1.5 hour), I don't think the chamois makes a ton of difference unless it is truly uncomfortable... for longer rides, I think it is a good investment for a nicer bib :) good luck, I really want to know how those Elite Body Control bibs do...

At Universal Cycles you can use coupon code "VIP15" to take 15% off orders over $300, reducing the total for two pairs to $323, with free shipping.

This place appears to have them in all sizes at $158 each, also with free shipping, but I know nothing about the seller. http://www.bikesonline.com/assos-t-fi-uno-s5-short-bib-black-lg.htm

Voler Elite FS are worth a look. I like 'em as everyday bibs, and on sale for $64.95-$84.97.

+1 on Boure. Not that my opinion is worth much ... they're the only bibs I've used.

Also check out geartrade for Capo. I picked up a really nice pair for $70. last year...they are mostly returns to backcountry, FWIW.

Can't help much on the bib thing, they never did much for me, but Competitve Cyclist appears to have some pretty good prices in their sale section.

any bib suggestions out there for a tall lanky man with no butt? I'm looking for something I can wear for long 5+ hour rides that provides great chamois support (again, i have no butt).

I'm 6'2" 160 lbs with a 34in inseam and 31in waist. Seems like for most bibs I should really be wearing a large so the straps dont hike the shorts up into my crotch (i currently have that problem with a cheapy medium Craft bib). But I'm afraid if I get a large the shorts will be too big since I have skinny thighs.

I am currently debating between the De Soto 400-mile bib, the Louis Garneau Neo Power, maybe a Rapha Pro Team Cross (on sale for 180), or even a Voler Elite or Sugoi Evolution (cheaper options).

I'd be glad to hear anyone's thoughts on what to get. Thanks!
