OK folks, I’d like to give this another go – as some of you may recall I’m thinning my stable to keep only bikes that’ll accept racks & fenders. As this one does neither, and is a tad small for my 6’1”+ all torso, short legged build I’d like to get it to someone who could enjoy it more. If you know anyone who could use a slightly offbeat production bike with wonderfully smooth riding, full True Temper OX Plat frameset and full SRAM Rival please pass this on...

Selling as a mostly complete bike, minus pedals, saddle, seatpost & computer (sorry). Link below to the otherwise stock geometry and components:

Note: inexplicably marketed by Salsa as a size ‘51’, which is Salsa-speak for a regular sized 58.

Bicycle was purchased in Oct ’09 and has seen <500 miles. There are two minor paint blemishes to mention: a light scratch in the clear coat along the top tube, and slight rash along the seatstay near the drop out, drivetrain side. I’ve tried to capture these in the photos. The bike has otherwise rarely been ridden, nevermind crashed or abused!

$1,000 + shipping.

I’d be happy to arrange viewings/rides for those local to the NYC area. Link to more photos, here:

I'm not interested in buying but I would be interested in knowing how you liked this bike...if you have the time.

Thanks.

I've been quite fond of this bike's ride quality: springy yet stable, and wonderfully damped. Add in clearance for 28mm tires and a sub-20lb weight, and it seemed to have all the right ingredients. Two positive reviews:

My tastes have since evolved towards more traditional, lugged, level top tube'd, all steel affairs with rack and fender mounts. Had I ordered one size up, closer to the 60cm range perhaps I wouldn't be selling at all, but my stable is already too cluttered...so this one - as the least practical bike - spends most of its time unridden.

As far as steel production bikes go it's been tons of fun... I do want to move it onto someone who could enjoy it more though!

this is a great bike and Salsa's last true road bike they built, at least for now... somebody should really get this as it's a steal at $1k!

...Nope! The seatpost is gone, but I'm hoping you and others can help me take the rest of it!
