Is it possible/wise to unscrew the mounting bolts from calipers so they fit in flattish mailing box like I have used to mail stems?

but i once tried, for the first and only time, to change out a back bolt for a front bolt. i was in my shop at the bench and got one side of one spring unsprung, and then said oh sh*t, and put it back together and never looked at it again. i'm thinking you ought a bigger box and pay an extra buck for the postage. in other words, i did not find that the bolt just "unscrewed" as all the other caliper parts seem to get involved too.

^this^ Nowhere near worth the large hassle involved in relation to the small amount of extra postage, as Eddie said.

Matter of fact, if you mailed me brakes that I had to reassemble because you were being such a cheap s**t and trying to save a couple nickels, I'd come down to your place and taunt your Rivendell!

maybe I'll just shorten them with a hacksaw and let the recipient braze on whatever length bolt he needs.

Oops, I'm a day late with that idea.:)
