OT: credit card security breach, check your transactions

My son let me know that there had been a major breach at a credit card processing facility. Check your account statements. I found a number of charges on one of my cards apparently being turned into gift cards, ten bucks here, twenty or thirty there.

We caught a $300 scam on our bank card last week. It was pretty advanced but our names were not spelled correctly nor was our phone correct (but pretty close).

I've had my Amex compromised twice in 12 months. I think both times, a server swiped my #'s while I was waiting for the bill to come back. That's why I never use a debit card at restaurants. Beware out there!

Thank you for the heads up! I saw this earlier this morning and spent a half hour checking my statements for any errors!

yep, caught some items on my MasterCard yesterday...so far the VISA is OK.
