Getting the wrap to have a nice finished look good at the end cap.

Trying to insert an end cap while holding the wrap at the end is a pain but I've come up with a solution.
Wad up some paper from a paper bag into a tight ball then start fitting it into the end of the handlebar while working the wrap so that most of the wrap is being held in place by the paper.

Follow that up with the cap to get the nice finished look.

did you pull the paper out before fitting the end cap in, or would that have allowed the wrap to come out?

You answered your own question, anyway no need to pull paper out. If you need to take it out in the future use needle nose pliers to pull it out.

I couldn't stand losing any of my climbing ability due to all the extra weight.

I climb so fast, the paper just burns up inside!

Ray at handlebra is now offering cool wood endplugs. They do not make you faster, but if you lose the race, you lose in style.
