Don't think Thor was ready for this one. His objective is about a month away...but I'm sure he had a role in the race for Garmin...and will miss the race miles in his legs.

Fabian, Cav, Boonen....not necessarily in that order...but all showing good form.

Dark horse pick is Haussler, but I think it will be between Cav and Sagan.

"Just waiting to see where Sean Kelly is. Baited breathe I'm sure my friends in Ireland right now, riveted to their tv sets and urging on the man from Carrick. One of the oldest man in the sport and he still has got all the exuberance..."

Peevishly, he reminded the masses that there is no "St. Remo"

It's Sanremo.

Sagan is a good pick.

BMC needs a win, though.

Ever since Boonen switched to Pepsi, he hasn't been the same. ;)

He/she who does cocaine...they lose their soul, tough as you need it in life, let alone sport. Hopefully he stays clean.

Climb..Boonen looks better than he has in about 3 years. He's going to be right there...if not in San Remo then Flanders and Roubaix.

It is also fair to be instructive about expressions. It is not Baited Breath, it is Bated Breath, breath having been abated, as it were, holding your breath, sort of, waiting for an outcome.

From the Merchant of Venice:
What should I say to you? Should I not say
'Hath a dog money? is it possible
A cur can lend three thousand ducats?' Or
Shall I bend low and in a bondman's key,
With bated breath and whispering humbleness, Say this;
'Fair sir, you spit on me on Wednesday last;
You spurn'd me such a day; another time
You call'd me dog; and for these courtesies
I'll lend you thus much moneys...

Correct. And.

What should I say to you? Fish or cut bait Chiefy
'Hath Amity's money? For ten thousand dollars it is possible.
A cur can lend five thousand dollars? Or
Shall I hover low below decks,
With bated breath and homemade moonshine, Say this:
'Fair sirs and women of Amity on summer last;
Your businesses spurn'd such these days; another time
You call'd me a dogged Captain; and for these courtesies
I'll catch the head, the tail and the whole damned thing...

"I don't want no volunteers, I don't want no mates, there's just too many captains on this island. $10,000 for me by myself. For that you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing."

To the last I grapple with thee!
No. No, you can't get away.
From hell's heart, I stab at thee.
For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee.

someone's paying attention. Oscarito's form is as mercurial as that of a cat, and he might as well pull something out of his sleeves

50% chance of rain tomorrow. Should be an entertaining, if not exciting race as the big guns appear to be on form judging from various interviews.

I'd like to see Haussler take it but Cancellara has to be the fav. (Canc lost in a bunch sprint last year and won with a 2k time trial in '08.)

With the possibility of rain do you chance a long shot from the Cipressa, or fight it out from the Poggio?

I forked over $29 bucks for the Universal sports on demand program.

I can hook my laptop up to my big screen in the garage and hit the trainer. Should be a nice training day with this motivation.
