Hanging around Boston (and staying out of the Fenway rafters now that one dummy ruined it for the rest of us) I read that the Cyclocross Championships are going to be in Providence, and they went into some depth on who will likely be there, who wants to whomp who, some social notes and so on. What a nice surprise. They always do that?

I can't speak of todays coverage but when I lived outside of Beantown I had a crush on Susan Bicklehaupt who covered cycling for the Globe

...I ride with a number of them. Now, whether that has any effect on the paper's content is another question...

back in gotham we have the Times front-paging
the pissing contest between the french and the armstrong,
mean while levi's GERMAN win is relegated to the
inards of the sports pages, small and down low, as if it
had something to do with cemetary plot sales.

Is that today's Globe?

Hopefully they will give some good coverage to the GLoucester cross event as well since it is more local than Providence and almost as large and "star-studded".
