Shimano Dual Control Cable removal

I got suckered into replacing the M765 XT Dual Control shifters on a friend of a friends mountain bike and need to reuse the front derailleur cable. The unit does not have a cap to access the cable like the rear shifter so I'm perlexed as to how to remove the cable. Does anyone have any experience with these things and know how to get to the cable?

Shimano's shifters have used varying designs. There may be a plastic screw on the end of the unit that will reveal the cable. Otherwise you can go to Shimano's website and peruse the posted manuals for the specific shifters you're working on.
