Need a new chain on Campy 10 speed set up. LBS is saying it is just fine to run a Shimano 10 sp chain.

I've seen lots of references to running a KMC on Campy, but haven't seen anything on running Shimano 10 sp chain on a Campy 10 speed cassette.

Is LBS correct or not?

Thanks!

yup, works fine. i'm running a dura-ace chain on my campy-10 bike at the moment because it was all i could get locally.

bottom line is that all 10-sp chains are the same width, and will work fine will whatever system. shimano, sram, campy, kmc, pick your poison.

Shimano 10s chains have always been 5.9mm wide. Campy used to make their chains 6.1mm, but some years ago they switched to 5.9, calling them "Ultra Narrow."

So yeah, any 10 speed chain currently in production will work on any 10 speed bike.
