I have a circa 95 chorus 8spd freehub with skinny steel axle, that was upgraded with an alloy 9/10 spd freehub body of a sort ive never seen...

Its alloy like a 9spd record body, but it has no campy markings and no grease injection ports.

The body also has nice replaceable cartridge bearings (2 sets, i just upgraded to ceramic).

Anyone seen anything like this?

i read about an alloy "super record" 8spd freehub body from this era. no reason they couldnt have offered something similar in the 9spd era.

I think the problem for an 8 speed wheel is that the body is not long enough to handle a 10 speed cassette even if made for that freehub body.

If the body u got transplanted is 9 speed then it will handle 10 w/o any problems.
