OK, I'm a dinosaur. When did Sidi make the change in buckle design?
I went to replace a broken one. The new ones didn't seem as easy to use as the old ones. Is it me (an old dog) or the new trick?
Would anyone know of a shop that has the old style? Would like a few pair.
Thanks.

Best bet for the "old" buckles, is wee bay. Same with the tecno buckles.

I put on a pair of the new ones on a set of older shoes and they work fine. The mounting is the same AFAIK.

How old are the shoes you are talking about?
The previous Sidi buckles (pre 2008) were the spider buckles. After the spider Sidi started using the caliper buckle.
Each of these buckles uses a diferent strap, so make sure you also get the the new strap if you end up with those!
The difference on the straps is that the old strap had a wider separation between the tooth and the tooth were larger than the current strap.

Definitely pre-'08.
I have a number of St. Louis shops to try tomorrow.
Ebay - no way.

I'd suggest A-1 and Maplewood - they're pretty good for stuff like that. I know Ray (A-1) has carried Sidi in the past and they have a good collection of old stuff in back.
