greases ie Speedplay brand and others

I have Speedplay Frog pedals on 4 bikes. A lotta pedals, some rebuilding, some routine maintenace greasing goes on here.

Now here is a replacement for the grease cartridge that came with my Speedplay gun($28 for a 3oz cartridge):

I saw some mini gun marine grease refills at my local auto parts store; 3 cartridges for $5.

I prefer not to do a cheapskate brainfart and need to ask whether or not my Frogs really care what gets squirted in there?

good marine grease is fine. i used Mobil-1 grease in my speedplays for years without a problem.

Use a quality grade Marine Grease .....

It appears you are in the Bay Area. If so, go down to the Orchard Supply Hardware and get the 3-pack marine grease from Sta-Lube. That's what I used for all (3) of my Speedplay X pedals. Never had any issue.

This happened after a very small dose of marine grease. Use caution.
