Has anyone seen this awesome idea for a light?
Magnic Light (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dynamodirk/magnic-light-get-new-energy?ref=live) (kickstarter site)
Basically, Magnic Light is a bike light that uses eddy currents induced in a rim (with no actual rim contact) to produce electricity for an LED. The creators claim that the braking effect is very small.
There are probably a lot of folks on the forum with more knowledge in physics/engineering than me who could give a better explanation of how it works and whether it is a feasible replacement for battery powered lights...
