Leaving for a trip to Yosemite today but I have one last gripe before I leave.
Posting pics is not brain surgery nor require you to have them developed.
So why do I still read posts from folks in this day and age," pics will follow".
Hello I can take a pic of this post and have it posted with minutes, in fact I'll prove it, time is now 7:09 PST.

Done, O.K. it took 3 minutes not 2.

i have resorted to always posting my photos to picasa and then linking the picasa album to my messages. i do this due to what a pita it is to have to reduce the size of photos to be accepted by the forum software.

i notice that others post honking big photos in their messages. how does one upload honking big photos without running into the size limit?

I suspect some people have higher standards for the pics they post then others. Not everyone wants to post a *****ty pic taken with a cell phone.

Imac screens don't clean well for some reason.

Oh, you can post honking big photos by using the "link photo" function (the little yellow square next to the hyperlink button, with the mountain and sun icon. Just include a link to the photo on an external web site (Picasa, in this case).

I'm not certain why you think it's a pain to reduce the size of photos.

Now, I am working on a Mac -- and there are several photo apps that make it a cinch to resize any photo -- I'm using the classic one, Graphic Converter. I assume there are similar apps for Windows.

Also, just like the poster below, I insert full-size photos into my posts by linking them. The easiest way, I've found, is by using Dropbox.

That free-for-2GB service for any platform has a Public folder. Any file I put into that folder, right on my desktop, automatically generates a URL I can use when posting here. So, no uploading to a photo service is needed.

Dave, who only posts things to sell that he wants to sell and therefore almost always includes photos since that makes it easier to sell and that's what he wants and this is getting awfully circular

i just tried to edit my last message in this thread. when i clicked on the sun/mountain icon, up came a space into which i could paste the url of a photo from my picasa album. when i pasted the link into the box and then closed the edit of the message, the photo did not appear in the body of my message...just a little red x in a box.

Much ado about nothing if you ask me.

I too get bummed when I don't see pics attached to sales ads but I usually give the seller benefit of the doubt: maybe he is technically challenged, or maybe he doesn't have access to a camera, OR maybe he hasn't picked up the bike that has the grouppo on it he's trying to sell and will pick it up today and take pictures.......like me. What i wouldn't do is try and exert some sort of superiority by proving you can post a pic in less than two mins. Sheeeesh.

If you're day is ruined cause you can't see pictures then that sucks.

Hope it gets better !!
