I'm sure velotel will post a better ride report than mine soon, but here's my contribution

After getting shut down by the weather for a few weekends, velotel and I finally rode together yesterday. We re-routed on the fly while driving along the autoroute from our original destination -- the hills above Echirolles -- to a climb that I had only been up in the comfort of my car. The road is pretty steep (just under 10% average) and to access that climb you have to do another mini climb up the Col de Cossey. I had never been up this road at this time of year, and it's actually quite beautiful on a bike. After taking a few pictures at the dead end

we turned around and crossed over a short but fun dirt/mud/snow section, and then did a little exploring on roads that snaked along the sides of hillsides.
