View Full Version : Dura Ace 7400 series hub question

I'm getting ready to list a set of Dura Ace/Open Pro wheels and I can't tell if the rear hub is a 7402 or 7403. Any secrets without pulling the cassette?

According to VeloBase, 7402 hubs were labeled "Integrated 8 SIS" in the center of the shell, were Hyperglide compatible, but still had the threads on the outside of the FH body so Uniglide cogs could be used.

I can't tell what changed from the 7402, but it looks like it mentions lubrication ports. Perhaps someone with better eyes than I can decipher the description.

Perhaps VeloBase is wrong about the 7402. This post:

says that 7402 was Uniglide only. That would make your hub a 7403.

Much obliged Oliver! I found some photos of the 7403's on the web as well thanks to your links. Now I just need to get some better photos of the wheels so that I can post in the classified.
