I know there's a white bikes thread. How about a red bikes thread? I need some inspiration on how to build my red frame, and red is one of those colors that you can screw up pretty easily.

I think when you have a red frame you have three basic options:

1) Red frame + black highlights
2) Red frame + silver / white highlights
3) Red frame + something else.

I think (1) or (2) are safe options and both look good. White / silver is a more classic look. Black more modern.

(3) is IMO the riskiest option. Could look original if done well, but it's much tougher to pull off.

Red Dreesens painted by Tom K. Just replaced the Open Pro wheels with A23's laced to DA hubs.

True Temper over size, 35mm downtube, 32mm seat and top tubes. I've had it a little over a year know and I love it.

I posted pics in the custom section back when I got it (painted black) then had it repainted red by Tom after Peter replaced the downtube after I dented it in a stupid crash riding circles in my basement.

Your Kish is awesome! I noticed that you have TRP CX8.4/9s (?) in the front but a standard Canti in the rear. Any particular reason you didn't put the mini V on the rear as well? Just curious. My TRPs come next week for my 2012 Chili Con Crosso

I split the set because I don't need the stopping power and the front eliminates any fork shudder. So the other one is on the front of a Serotta cross. BTW they are CX9s - I got them before the 8.4s were released.

You'll like the TRPs - so easy to set up and nice stopping power. Note, v-brakes have a slightly mushier feel than cantis.

One thing I like about this particular bike, visually, is the complete lack of chrome, except for the dropouts. Just as Ugo intended, no foo, all business.

I just built a wheel with Red DT spokes that will go on my Wife's new red Crown Jewel SE bike. The frame will be here in a few weeks. So this will allow me to find the thread when it is built.
Frame: Corsa Red Indy Fab with "Razorbacks" downtube decal. SRAM RED components, Black King hubs and Red Velocity rims and red DT spokes and white bar tape.

I suppose I should post a picture of my wife's 1985 Merckx Professional. We bought it a few years ago. It had spent it's entire life up to that point hanging on a wall in a lawyers office, never ridden!
