I think this look more like a $4000 bike (I still wouldn't buy it) but what do you think? Why is this bike even priced close to $14,000?

"Bianchi by Gucci" carbon urban bike (http://www.gucci.com/us/styles/284332JA3108730#)

Can you imagine how much the Tiffany's bike will cost? Particularly when they decide to put a half carat solitaire in the center of the stem's faceplate? But it will all be worth it, because it will come in a huge blue bag!

"hydraulic disk breaks"

They are asking $14k and they couldn't even proof-read the copy???

Water bottles-reflectors-double sided pedals-22 lbs.-hydraulic "breaks". for only 14 grand?

it has disk "breaks" and reflectors, gotta be worth the $$$
just call 1-800-482-2430 and consult the personal shopper about fit. should be good conversation

It would go well with Gucci skinny jeans (http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main/ProductDetail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374306 418052&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524446454712&R=885133483926&P_name=Gucci&sid=1358C7ABA008&Ntt=gucci&N=306418052&bmUID=jmbMEyU) ($590) and a Gucci messenger bag (http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main/ProductDetail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524446368 070&afsrc=1&site_refer=GGLBASE001&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=0883339924342) ($750 -- DUE TO HIGH DEMAND, A CUSTOMER MAY ORDER NO MORE THAN 3 UNITS OF THIS ITEM EVERY THIRTY DAYS  ).

Nice. I wonder if they solved the brake fade problem with discs.

I think bikes should come with bags... like good shoes. would be handy for lots of reasons.

Gee... 14 G's and no suspension? Won't the snooty haute couture crowd that buy these need some dissipation of all the road forces to their tender arses?

"Bianchi by Gucci" carbon urban bike (http://www.gucci.com/us/styles/284332JA3108730#)It must be priced at that level because it satisfies the expectation of the target audience into which it is sold. Even if the bike never sells a copy, it will project and reinforce a positive, active and fit self-image of Gucci's clientele.

Not just jumping in and out of the backseat of a Maybach while traipsing between the Plaza Athenee and Hermes for this crowd, non monsieur!

COuld build me a pretty nice custom road bike, MTB and rando bike for that amount of coin. Would be prettier, more exclusive and have even better water bottles.

that is just terrible. Not that anyone on planet Earth would buy that stupid thing, but why would anyone ever want a carbon urban bike? Gucci...one of those 'lost its cache' brands. I remember as a kid a guy selling "Gucci" sweatshirts at our local flea market.

but seriously, don't your non riding friends/family react the same way
when they find out that your bike cost $5000.?
They can't tell your ride from a $199.00 Walmart special.

Just a matter of scale, no?

so take a painting say a Picasso, the parts are worth maybe $20. Frame, canvas, paint. OK, maybe $30.00, but it sells for millions because of the name.
That's all this is.
sounds like it's got a nice group on it, at least they want with Campy (I'm assuming)

False analogy alert!!!
Would you say Richard Sachs takes a few hundred bucks worth of lugs, tubing, brass and paint, and it's only the decals that make the resulting bike worth $3,000 (and a six-year wait)?
Granted, with Picasso some not-so-great work benefits from his greatest work, but that's different from overpriced shoes and schmatas.

Why is there a bolt at the seatstay/ seattube junction? Also that rear derailleur looks likes a modern take on drillum. I kinda want to see this bike in person.

I wonder what you have to leave behind to take it for a test ride or would they tell you that it's not for riding.

I once got a "Goochee" watch on a streetcorner for twenty bucks.

I bought a pile of "genuine" rolexes in Seoul for about $25. The funniest part is I had them in my carry-on flying back and there wasn't enough ferrous metal in them to set off the metal detector. I gave them to friends as gag gifts, called them "Seoulexes" :D

If I have a chance, I'll swing by the Gucci store here in Beverly Hills and see if they have one of those bad boys.

If anyone here wants to slip me their ID and CC number, I'll use that as security for a test ride.
