That Breakfast Stout is BIG...and great.

Right now, Founders variety case in the fridge. I'm usually not a big fan of variety cases, but Centennial IPA, RyePA, Porter and Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale works for me.

I guess some of us resemble the people that ride sram, when it comes to beer in the fridge. 'Some' of us just drink pretty normal, not hoppy(yuk), not dark, not belgium-esque, not ipa, not microbeer, beer..but it's like some 'other' things, tastes good but nobody wants to hear about it..

Like some mainstream euro(Dutch, German, Czech, Italian) beers, canadian, mexican.

Dark, hoppy, stoutie, no thanks....

I am in the same boat in Florida. Can't get it down here either. I reload whenever I travel and bring it back with me. I just polished off the rest of my Fat Tire and Hoptober. Hopefully NB will start distributing down here one day...

Shouldn't be hard to find in Vancouver. If you haven't had anything from Oskar Blues, I highly recommend everything they make. Their IPA, Red and Stout are delicious.

i have had the opportunity to drink almost ever beer out there. so my favorites that are usually in my refrig:

best light beer (3.2g carbs or less): miller lite
best light beer (over 3.2g carbs) sam adams light, although has more carbs and colories than many regular beers. beer marketing laws! go figure.
best everyday value drinking beer: pabst blue ribbon. yes right pabst!!!
best stout: guiness
best everyday value priced dark: yuengling black and tan
best extraordinary: chimay grand reserve it is almost like port wine. so so so good. probably the best beer i have ever tasted. and the cost is ultra high.
best ultra strong beer: grimbergen triple. if i remember 17.59% alcohol content. i drank six if these once and you talk about the room spinning!!! it's also available in a double at about 12% alcohol

I currently have three bottles in the fridge:

Unibroue "La Fin du Monde"

Brouwerij Huyghe "Delirium Tremens"

De Proefbrouwerij "Zoetzuur Flemish Ale"

Just finished at the Super Bowl XLVI party: Weihenstephaner "Korbinian"

The Zoetzuur is new to me (a gift from my sister) so I don't know how it will be. The other three are some of my favorites and I can recommend them all with the highest praise.

Hoppy, mmmm ...too hoppy is a sign (IMHO) of an adolescent brewer. Going nuts on one taste. Too hoppy lacks balance.
A couple of my favourites from Down Under. These guys get the balance right.

Men's Journal this month(has a motorcycle on the front) has a 4-5 page article on craft beers and a few recommendations in each category. It has a neat fold-out which shows the beer spectrum from a pilsner to a stout. Their website might have the same article - i'm too lazy to check but you can.

I am a wheat beer guy. In the wheat craft range I like Bell's Oberon and Allagash White.

Quickly became a favorite on our last MAN trip into the mountains of western NC. MAN Trip = mountains, mountain bikes, beer (lots of it), Mexican food and bbq and a cabin in the woods. Not to sidetrack too much, but what do you guys drink that have severe acid reflux? I used to drink lots of IPA's, but unfortunately have had to cut that out completely. I find lagers seem to be okay, but I really am not a huge fan of lighter beers except for Stella.

I don't have that particular issue, but I have found that beer and I don't get along too well of late. And get this...my wife says I snore even louder if I drink a dinner pint when out for a Friday night burger.

I've pretty much gone to red, enjoying only an occasional evening's bottle of suds.

A little late to the conversation... here's my contribution:
http://i40.tinypic.com/14sgjh5.jpg

Anchor Steam
Anderson Valley Brother David Triple
Anderson Valley Amber Ale
Firestone Porter
Maredsous Abbey
North Coast Old Stock
North Coast Pranqster
North Coast Brother Thelonious
Russian River Pliny the Elder
Sierra Nevada Ruthless IPA

...and some terrible organic beer I should have poured down the sink a long time ago but never have.

Recently had (some of my favourite beers):
Anderson Valley Oatmeal Stout
Chimay Grand Reserve
North Coast Pranqster

I need a bigger fridge. That's only what's IN the fridge
