If he really did it on his own for only his own use and she didn't know bout it then . . . what an idiot.

If he did it for her and she used them then . . . what a pair of idiots.

At least he didn't claim it was for his mother-in-law (ala Rumses) or his dog (ala VandenBrook).

Didn't she win Mt. Washington at least once? So your regular joes and janes are doing all they can to lighten their bikes and she's effectively using an additional partial lung? Sheez!

Not only did Long win the Mt. Washington Hillclimb, she is (at least at the present) the Open Women's record holder. Although the Mt. Washington Hillclimb does not perform drug testing, due to their admissions of drug use the previous Men's and Women's record holders (Tyler Hamilton and Genevieve Jeanson) have been removed from the record books (press release (http://www.tinmtn.org/mwarbh/index.cfm/2011/6/8/Hamiltons-and-Jeansons-times-dropped-from-Auto-Road-records) ). It makes one wonder if they will have to amend their record book again.

On the other hand, suppose you were married to a greatest-of-all-time and you were determined not to get dropped on training rides...

. . . she could have been clean early in her career. I don't think there is any doubt she is an incredibly gifted athlete. But getting to 40+ and still trouncing everybody? Yeah, something's going on there . . .

Still unfortunate to see this, though. You always WANT to believe somebody like that is doing it clean.

Maybe a bad picture, but she's not looking on top of the world to me.

So it isn't that the extremely rigorous french anti-doping protocols were keeping the drugs out of the men's peloton, it was that she was using the entire country's supply of juice for herself.

I thought it was red wine and Gitanes that got her going.
