Already done. Just arrived home from Cabo with a suitcase full of Ancestra.

Quick story; the guy I buy my Ancestra from in Cabo runs a store called Puros, Vinos y Tequilas. I've know Ricardo for 3~4 years now, a very Tequila knowledgeable guy. I ask him this time how come he's the only store that I can find that carries Ancestra. He tells me that the rep for Ancestra for all of Baja California is his brother in law. Now he's my very best friend!

I'll talk with Keith . . . he is the ULTIMATE tech guru and can tell us of the color-bar-on-every-post can be modified independently of other style aspects.

Seems opinion on the general orange theme color is split, though. Give us a few days/weeks for things to take shape. In the meantime, got sunglasses?

Thanks for keeping things going, but I am really going to miss the Serotta influence - it is the only reason many of us got here.

The user agreement discussion of the classifieds seems to eliminate links to products for sale elsewhere - ebay, CL and so forth - which is fine with me. Place for forum members to sell their bicycle products.

I hope there will be a move to slow down all of the negative comments about others' classified posts - it is time.

I like the fact that people in the business will not be able to promote their products - this is tough to control though. Does this include moderators?

Thanks Serotta for all your support of the forum. The Serotta influence and information has been what brought me here and kept me here. My first custom a Serotta Nove in 2007 changed my cycling life and I have never once thought of getting rid of the bike. Last week the bike components did go from that old 2007 Record 10 to 2012 Record/Super Record 11. The Record 10 can move to my CSI - the last one made. Until I joined this forum I did not even know I needed multiple road bikes. The forum is also where I won a raffle for a Spectrum ti. Many good times Serotta.

I like the fact that people in the business will not be able to promote their products - this is tough to control though. Does this include moderators?

We encourage everyone to join the Paceline community, participate in discussions, and enjoy the fellowship. Everyone--including moderators--is welcome to talk about what they like or don't like.

But where does discussion bleed over into "promotion?"

This is a criteria we are still discussing among ourselves--and will probably BE discussing over the next several weeks as we see how membership may change and just in general how things go.

Builders and other are free to discuss their products--within limits. I'm sorry we can't give you a few sentences yet that absolutely defiine what those "limits" are. But we are working on it.

I think in general just hark back to the new user agreement . . ."Don't be a jerk." If you're an industry type, don't post billboards or talk about your stuff in every post and we'll see how it goes. Ray should be free to answer questions about HandleBra. Dave Kirk should be free to answer questions about one of his builds. Same goes for everybody else. Let's just be reasonable, folks . . .

. . . is an independent cycling forum and no longer has any affilitation or sponsorship from Serotta. More details are available in the welcome statement posted as a sticky.

A click-thru link to the Serotta web site will remain at the top of this forum as a gesture of thanks for Ben's long time sponsorship of this online community. We owe him a lot.

We are currently evaluating fine tuning that can be done with the colors. We're looking at what can be done to stay within the established palette of the new logo while reducing the, ah, "polarizing" nature of the current theme color!

You will be seeing some slight changes over the coming days as we make adjustments and seek to create the best user experience for everyone!

Many, many thanks to Keith and also to Ben. The blue with the modest amount of orange in the logo looks great, imho. Tim

Blue on taupe easier on my eyes than screaming orange.

...

Did someone explain "the paceline"? {nevermind, thanks Keith A.}

Is it as simple as 'the serotta forum" is now now longer sponsored/linked to serotta and now has a new name called "the Paceline"?

Hmmm...serotta forum kits now collectors items!

I hope Pete sticks around.

Shall we beg?
With due respect, no. Begging is not becoming.

Hopefully the new management will be inclusive and encourage greater diversity in participation. Being independent should also help towards growth in that direction. The forum’s future can be brighter given a fair chance.

How about setting up a paypal address for donations to keep up the forum's forward momentum.. perhaps a gentleman's agreement to donate if you are selling stuff in the classifieds?

I do miss the explicit connection to Serotta, but I understand the move.

Keep up the good work, all, it is much appreciated!

Keep up the good work, all, it is much appreciated! Thanks. We will be doing some type of option for donations...just haven't worked out the details. I agree that not having the explicit connection to Serotta will be missed, but for a long time this has mostly been in name only.

Maybe Serotta was not involved in the website, but people who bought Serottas gravitated here, and there has been great Serotta information here. For me the Serotta connection helped me overcome many of the other issues with the forum.

JeffJeff -- Good point. I think there are plenty of folks who still own Serottas that hang out here (myself included) and you will still find good info about their bikes on this forum.
