Any guess?

If too narrow to fit 10 or 11speed, does speading via cold setting jeopardize structural integrity?

Thx.

Should be 130mm, good for 8-9-10-11 speed.

Nope, I hear it crying from here from the very suggestion.

First i need to bribe my buddy into selling it. Has sat in garage for well over decade or more. Gruppo is all Campy Chorus, prob 8 speed.

Whats the frame or bike worth? Has a few nicks and chips but nothing terrible. I only want frame but can take stuff apart and sell em i guess.

Take a look at completed Merckx listings on ebay..give you an idea. Value, worth, varies wildly. I got a complete Corsa with crappy old parts for $660. I think a screaming deal. Painted it Molteni, threw all the parts away.

130mm (or 128mm) 8 speed (modern) spacing was generally introduced on 1991 frames.

Turns out its an '87. Has sentimental value, I wouldnt dare push to buy it and instead we'll ride together in 20 years admiring the Merckx. Maybe it will have SRAM Fuscia 2032 on it....as ordered in fall of 2031...

87 could be 126 or maybe 128 (but I think 88 or 89 is when 128 emerged). You can still spread it without harm to 130.

Thats ok, many other fish in sea. This one wasnt for sale per se, i only inquired if there'd be any interest.

We all raced in high school, the Merckx saw plenty of duty back then, hence the ssentimental value. It'll continue to hang from the rafters as a reminder....that we were a lot faster then!

You shouldn't have to look to hard for a nice Merckx.

I have a 1988 Corsa and a 1991 Century available.

Just sold a time capsule Corsa Extra two weeks ago.

What size do you need?

Im not really looking for a Merckx, this was more of a fluke and timely (as in today only, before i head off for travel), plus i was only interested in something vintage that i had a personal connection to. Thank you though.

No problem.

Thinning the herd here, and it will take awhile with so many bikes.

Lots of flavors to choose from.
