So...I finally scored a frame I've been looking for tonight.
It's a '92 Chesini Innovation.
It is being sold with a non-matching fork, chrome Columbus with Gipiemme dropouts...I have the option of buying the frame alone for $50 less, and save $10 on shipping.
Thoughts?
I would probably just run a full CF Time Equipe Pro Featherlight (with an aluminum insert I made) that I have sitting here.
TIA

Even if you don't want to use the steel fork, should you ever decide to sell the frame down the road it would be a plus to have it IMO.
I wouldn't think of putting a CF fork on that frame but that's me....

If the frame is solid for 50 bucks is a steal, I never have the chance to get deals like that ever.
Besides maybe a new paint job the bike looks solid. As for the fork, doesn't look like matching the frame too much IMO.
Good luck with the build.

I wish...$50 less without the fork.
Columbus EL-OS, early compact geometry if you're not familiar with it.

Get the fork, if you decide you do not want it I will take it off your hands:)

I would probably paint the CF fork to match/complement. Not a huge fan of unpainted CF forks either.
I might try to find a Chesini fork eventually.

I'd take the fork also, unless the $60 is a significant % of the total purchase + shipping price. (In this case "significant" for me would be more than 10%)
Only caveat would be if you're 100% certain that you'll never use it, and you won't want to keep the CF fork you put on there if / when you decide to sell it.

I am spending five weeks next summer in Bavaria.
I always find too many goodies while I am there.
Digging around for a Chesini fork may keep me out of trouble.
I'd run the CF for now though.
Paint her to match though.

:)
Timely.
I just finished a book by G. Franco Romagnoli titled The Bicycle Runner.
That picture you posted could have easily been used in the book!
ps Mark, I just now emailed my wife's cousins about your bicycle. They are bicycle enthusiasts as well, and are very good at finding items for me.

You could always buy this one, and sell the frame, just keep the fork :)

I was watching that one for awhile...originally the seller had just the frame and a $600 LOWER PRICE! He became really proud of it once he got the fork...
