This is like no winter (or even summer) I've ever experienced. Usually we have nice weather from sept on thru nov but not on thru to feb.
I know we'll have to pay the piper sometime down the road.

... Unless there's real winter weather, which proves that there is no global warming.

Highs in St Louis have been in the 60's this week. Crazy.

We really haven't had any serious cold this winter, and it's getting pretty late to get down to around 0*. That means that later this year the bugs will be out in force.

I accept blame for this. I was tired of cold toes so bought winter cycling shoes at the start of the season. The irony...

pretty sure Alaska is paying the price for all of this nice weather down here... Alaska is having a really bad winter, even for them...

Logged just over 500 outdoor miles for month of January, which for me in the Northeast with limitied daylight and typical artic wind blasts/clippers--hard to do with family, career, yada yada yada

...for the winter of 2011/ 2012. We haven't had snow to speak of here and I've been out on the bike in shorts every day since Sunday.

Last year in January we had several weeks of what basically felt like summer in the bay area too, remember? and then the rain started again in early feb.

It's been a fairly typical winter here.....cold since the middle of Nov and a bit more snow than normal down low (mountains are at 92% of avg snowpack). We haven't had the normal 8-10 day stretch of -30° nights yet but that often occurs in Feb.

I was incredulous at half that for January!

Wacky wedder in LA. This winter I rode in the lowest temperature I've ever experienced in LA proper, 34 degrees. Then last week we had a record high for the day, 88 IIRC.

Indeed. Here in the CT river valley we are very dependent on snow melt from the northern states to feed our rivers and lakes. Thus far, "ain't got none," so the piper will be paid in summer drought.

Most of us are riding bikes through this winter instead of skiing, thus may pay that piper a fee of being dismally overtrained and burned out by July. I've had that happen in prior years with warm winters, thus hung up my bike this year after a Jan 1st ride. It'll hang there for three months while I try desperately to get my ski fix.

Record dry and warm here this winter. It seems most days are above 40° and there has been very little snow. I've been riding my road bike 3-4 days a week and haven't been XC skiing since Thanksgiving.

In a way it's been nice but we will no doubt pay for this with very dry fire conditions this coming summer and the rivers will run really low. It just isn't right.

It's a La Nina year - the weather is pretty typical for that pattern, although a little more extreme this year.

Same here in Boston-Providence area. I have gone for rides where usually this time of the year the snow and ice cover the paths

Well...I rode 58 miles here in Denver on Sunday with the temps in the mid to high 50's and last night ...........10 inches of snow and today the high is 31 degrees.

Gotta LOVE Denver weather. :D

Well...Denver ended up getting 15.9 inches of snow the last two days and we are expecting another storm tomorrow with snow on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Not sure just yet how big the storm is but...we need the water so we don't end up with the crazy droughts we have had the last few summers.
