reading a post a day or two ago from a particularly knowledgeable forum member, i wondered...who are our little forum's yodas? the wise ones? which posts do you always or semi-always read thinking you'll learn something? here's my .02:
wise and neutral: 11.4, big mac, david kirk, and guest appearances by TK
wise and with a (very) certain POV: dbrk, e-richie, da jerk
street-wise: smiley
human-wise: sandy, ray, h. frank, keno, dave thompson, tom from LA and dbrk
wise-*ss: csb, roy, da jerk
brainy-wise (send us scrambling for our dictionaries): dbrk
grilling-wise (like going through orals for a doctorate): flydhest
i'm sure i've forgotten some folks; apologies. don't know quite where to put dave n; maybe in a MIA category? what's your list?
ps: damn, 11.4, how'd you get so knowledgeable? :D

Once again I am left out. I didn’t even make the “Wise-@ss” category.
I give up. I’m sure McDonald’s needs another burger flipper.

Surely, there's room for some of the more colorful characters in the forum:
Dr. Doofus, for example, cracks me up...
And who can forget 93Legend. Someone has to play the token bad guy....! ;)
No offense, 93Legend, with Lance gone there's really nothing for you and I to argue about anymore.... :)

richie, i have a very certain POV, but i'm far far from wise. maybe in 10 years. if i'm lucky.
and yes, TT is very wise, particularly about training. and weisan is human-wise, indeed. i knew i'd forgotten some folks. sorry.

Although not in the Yoda class, Climb, you are probably the best "thread starter". By that I mean, your threads are usually either thought provoking or of such an inquisitory nature that they churn up some good material. They are certainly not banal, trite or overasked questions. You have a pretty good batting avg for someone who steps up to the plate as often as you both for starting and participating in threads.

Climb is also a good procrastinator. The closer Mt. Washington looms, the more he posts. :)

Based on this reply, BBDave is thus far the only one who qualifies as a forum Yoda.

Well, I thought about coming up with a list of Forum wise guys (aka: Yodas), but the problem is that the list becomes too long, and invariably I'll leave someone out who deserves mention. You're all special: intelligent, gifted, mechanical, combative, understanding, and/or down right wacko in your own ways. :D
Group hug!
