Talk about doing things yourself! This guy is committed. Seriously. From his own bike to saddle/post combos. Apparently an engineering student who likes to tinker (which is putting it mildly).

I see stuff like this and it gives me hope that out there, somewhere, people are motivated to push boundaries and learn. Who knows where or what he'll end up doing in the future, but it sounds like he's got a great one ahead of him.

Nice perspective on things.

I wonder what that thing weighs.

if this is the same person, he was beginning to do this stuff back in 05' 06', just copying shells and getting the rails down. cool stuff indeed. And then started slowly leaking his stuff out.

wondering what his insurance is ?

curious

awesome :D

from the looks of things he rides all of it himself only, does not sell anything.

it's a really long thread and i took a few days to go through it, but quite a fascinating journey to watch.

I've been following him for a bit, and from what I understand, you're correct. It was more of a study for him to do it and see how it turned out.

Also, if I remember correctly the bike was super light, but I can't find the thread where he was weighing everything.

he has some pretty mad skillz.

That is truly committed to custom. 100 % custom saddle height. 100 % custom saddle setback. Good for him.

wonderful!

as a lifelong tinkerer myself, i have a great respect for people who make stuff with their own two hands. dream it up, and do it. good for him, the stuff looks great too.

i make toast, and not really good toast at that.

berk's thread made me feel a bit more dumberer.

One piece custom shoe/pedal combo? Hmmm... ;)

That's some cutting edge work & concept, I love it!

He's produced custom saddle/post and saddle/mast cap combos for a few forum members. IIRC, they weigh in around 130g. From what he's written on WW, he buys raw materials, produces his own molds (sometimes conforming to popular saddle shapes), determines lay-ups, and stress-tests his creations. Impressive stuff.

That is all kinds of crazy cool.
