It's 70 and sunny outside. But the wind is gusting to 30 mph. To ride, or not to ride? That is the question.

Choose the bike in your stable with the thinnest tubes and go!

Almost any weather outside beats the trainer/rollers if you can help it.

I just did a nice ride in Boston, Newton, Needham, where it was 60, sunny and calm. Not many January days where condition are better in Boston than Davis, huh? The route was sh*tty with Serotta's, I counted 4 or 5 on a 40 mile ride.

If the question arises, the answer is always yes. Tomorrow might be cold and windy. Or Raining. Or your car might get a flat. Or you kid might get sick. Or you might get audited by the IRS or have to hurry to a forgotten dentist appointment.

Ride.

70 here today with no wind and foggy at the beach. 30 miles of dirt was sweet.

65F today but wind gusts felt like 65mph.
As long as it's not raining or frosty, I'll take it.
I got in 65miles + 4k climbing, this is January? Wow.

I'm enjoying the mild winter here in CA, but I'm really worried
about the Earth, what's happening? No snow in Tahoe/Sierras, no rain.
I mean, it's really great for riding and all, but I feel a bit guilty, just a bit! ;)

You all have been getting a fair amount of much-needed rain, thinpin, haven't you?

This is weak. Either you rode or not.

But please, continue on.

If it is windy, do what (insert deity) intended you to do on windy days - Go windsurfing.

Oh, I rode, though not all that far: a quick 20 around the county airport. It was awful, actually, because the wind, as is always the case at this time of year, was incredibly dry. I felt like a raisin by the time I got home.

The thing is, the winter has been so beautiful here -- low to mid 60s, bright sun, little or no wind all the time -- that riding on an imperfect day felt especially craptacular. I mean, yeah, unless things turn around quickly, we're going to pay for this drought this coming summer, but it sure is nice for the moment.

42 degrees, overcast and damp in upstate NY and I rode - almost like summer here

Ok, that's better. Same weather here. Yes, we are going to get killed.

Rode here. Best to just suck it up and work on your aero position. Drink up.

I'll trade frozen hands and feet like icey bricks for sun dried raisins any day.
