I have an FSA Gossamer crank. I think it uses a MegaExo bottom bracket. Is there something that I can use as a substitute? The plastic cups that hold the bearings in place on the FSA bb need replacing too often for my liking.

Use a Shimano HollowTech-II BB. I switched out my FSA for a Shimano on my Gossamer crank and am very happy. FSA BB's don't have a very good reputation.

It baffles me that people continue to buy FSA parts (and that Cannondale and such continue to spec bikes with their parts).

Try out Hawk bottom brackets. Some of the smoothest bearings and they aren't even ceramic.

I didn't know their reputation when I bought it three years ago. It wasn't until I replaced the cups after the first year that someone made a remark about them.

Chris King..you can pay me now or you can pay me later. Worth the initial expense IMO.
