Does anyone have any experience with these bad boys?

They look pretty awesome, but I'm curious to hear some first hand accounts of what they feel like compared to STIs. It's a pretty simple idea, and now that I see it, I wonder why stuff like this hasn't been made before?

Wow those would work out nicely on my vintage CX build.
A Jeff Richman tight geo cx frame.
Paint was pretty bad when I got it so I did a rattle can spray and clear coat.
But those retro brake levers would make this ride really sweet.

What on earth makes you think that's a CX bike? Is it the cable routing or the pump peg?

That's not a pump peg it's a shoulder clip.

Mr Richman, called it a cross between CX and road. He wanted a fast handling ride that can handle larger tires with canti brakes to ride some of the roads, dirt and pavement in his neck of the woods at the time, I believe Santa Rosa.
I understand it is a one off frame that he built for himself. I've been trying to get a hold of him to verify.

He was one of the original pioneers for mountain bikes.

I wonder how the ergonomics of this lever are. I like the idea and wonder how easy it is to swing the lever while your hand is on the hoods? I would guess you can't shift them from the drops?

Anyone used them and know for sure?

in some of the pervious scuttlebutt there was mention by the company that these were built exclusively for shifting from the hoods, not at all from the drops.

Seems like it would make braking from the hoods a little funky when the shifter is in certain positions?

The coolest thing about the frame are the Art Stump drop outs.
Congrats.

I almost bought the frame just for those, but the last thing I need is another hole in the head . :)
