I know we dont get a lot of questions on vanity on this forum, and I'm not one to usually be too worried about how my bike looks, but rather how it rides and how often I can mount her... that being said, I just swapped stems to finially nail my fit down and I went with wet white. I'm thinking its a bit too much, but I cant quite decide. The white is almost spot on to the frame (the frame is a pearl white from house of colors).

Any thoughts on this? Sorry for the cell phone photo...

I have the same stem on my Serotta. Well, I have two stems for my Serotta, the -6 degree white stem which is my winter stem, and the -13 degree black stem which is my summer stem. The paint has chipped off the white stem in under two years. If you're not sure you like it, it's the perfect stem 'cause you'll be replacing it soon enough. The new WCS stem is worth waiting for...

Looks good. Slammed too. Black would also work.

Looks great with black tape. With white tape it would be too much. Nice bike.

good looking bike.

I like it. I think I like it more because of the parallel top tube and stem.

If you changed the angle I would go with black.

Also agree that white tape would be to much.

Have one on my Ritte in a 110mm and love it!
Although I have toyed with the idea of a red one

funny, i see it differently (since you asked :D ). i'd personally match the stem color to your bar tape color; either both black or both white. but obviously, it's all 100% subjective. when in doubt, just ride whatever you got; your legs are color blind.

for indulging me... I agree with most of you, i've decided i do like it... at first, going from black to white, it kinda looked odd to me, but now that i've seen it sitting in my office, I'm game with the color.

As for the slammed stem comments, as you can see, its got a bit of an extension in the HT above the TT, I considered sending it back to Ted to have it chopped, but determined I just needed the HBs a little bit lower, so I went with a 73 degree WCS stem in place of the 84 I had on there... fits like a charm now. I originally had this built as my casual riding bike, for centuries, weekend rides, etc... and didnt' want spacers. over the past few years, as I've been able to ride more, my flexibilty has gotten better and hence, I needed to lower the bars...

thanks again all

Try some red bar tape and black tires.

Thanks for posting although it got me for a second. First thought was why have removable face plate if bar won’t fit through opening. Then realized bars center is oversized compared to straight section on either side. Although not sure typical bar would fit through opening if thick bar tape was left on.

In any case it appears a great design to improve safety since bars can’t fall out if face plate comes off.

There's a video somewhere that shows how you install it, you just slide it off at the non-oversized section. They say you may have to unwrap a portion of it though if you've already wrapped your bars.

I think the White looks good as well....but you could also go with the Ritchey Wet Red to match the Ted Wojcik
