Yes.
They are good.
I like the 101's better (bearings, looks, etc).
Freehubs are switchable, it's best to let your LBS do them, though. They are readily available here, from Zipp, on eBay, etc but sometime pricey, as are most things Zipp.

*Also, great to see you shopping again for 2012, I was getting worried about the future of the economy! ;)

i'm looking at some "new, never used" team issues for $550 shipped. better or worse than something like kinlins or hed c2's to ??? hubs?

for the record, i'm hoping to go campy 10s, or possibly 11, on this build. caad9 with hollowgrams.

Do you mean the cassette body where the pawl spring is not catching on the ratchet? I had an issue with this and ended up replacing the cassette body at about 5000 miles.

I am pretty hard on wheels. But my zipp hubs have been more durable than my CK hubs.

You find a set, you get a bomb proof wheel at a great price.

The Zipp 101's sell new around here $800-900,
and I've seen a few gently used sets $600-700,
but I didn't have the money at the time to buy.

For the extra money, I think they're so much nicer,
just buy less Rapha & carbon bits, get that Zipp & Campy.

hahaha. i own zero Rapha and it will stay that way. considering this is a 29er house at the moment, no carbon bits either. where are you seeing 101's for that much? searching the series of tubes finds more like 1300

amazon 1500. competitive 1300.

There is a local guy/gal here in the Bay Area that sells them new on CL for $900, I was in a bike shop in San Jose a few months ago that were selling the floor models for $800, and I've seen used ones on a few occasions sell on CL for $600 & $700.

Maybe our market here is just saturated with Zipps? I've seen the Team Issues sell for $300-$400 as well, but they never interested me that much, I'm not on that "Team," haha!

yup, got that part figgered out. the question now is if the wheels are worth the $550 plus freehub cost, or if I shouldn't hold out. keeping in mind I'm not a bad wheel-builder myself. frustrating thing is, it doesnt seem to be that much cheaper to buy the parts and build the wheels myself now that I no longer have a shop discount.

New & never used Team Issues for $550? Pull that trigger!
You can always re-sell them and not lose any money, it's worth it to try.
