a new approach to playing with the clear on you bike :).

actually, i think this process may lend itself to some subtle decaling on newly painted framesets.

Awesome. I always wanted an outline of a golden retriever on my steel merckx!

Mask and sandpaper, what will they think of next, and you have to manually cut out the image with a utility knife!

of the idea of using a similar process of doing matte decals on a painted surface. sort of like the matte blasted decals on mirror titanium. a pro painter probably already has the tricks and tools to do it. i just have not ever seen it.

Forget the utility knife, get a Cricut (http://www.cricut.com/craftroom/default.html) machine the crafters and scrap bookers use.

The darn cricut is super expensive and doesnt do custom cut, that thing uses cartridges so if you want sometihng 100% custom it wont cut it.

THere is another way tho... there are small cutters but are expensive, the darn knife is cheaper unless u have a friend in a sign store, he could be able to cut whatever u give them and fairly cheap too.

Virtually all well qualified custom painters have the ability to create masks now...

It's the basis for most of the lettering and the software to do designs is no place near a leap.

Being able to perfectly lay the masks for designs with any sort of complexity or detail is something all together different...

The kit is super stupid... just cut a mask of your image in any paper or even vinyl paper, then sand with 3000 or 2000 grit, done! :D
